A special note to my readers who attend a church with a men’s team ministry:
In light of the rapidly spreading COVID-19 pandemic, if your church has a men’s team ministry to its widowed and single parents, then I want to encourage you to cancel your service day for this month and any following months as necessary.
The mortality rate for this deadly virus is estimated to be between 2% and 3.4%. This rate goes up dramatically for anyone over 60, and even more for anyone with underlying health issues.
COVID-19 has proven to be highly contagious and spreads through casual social contact.
Besides single parents, men’s team ministry specifically targets the widowed, the majority of whom fall into these high risk categories.
In order to not unnecessarily expose your church’s care receivers, I’m asking you to immediately cancel your service day, starting with tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) service day, if you will be meeting then.
Instead, I suggest your team leaders contact their care receivers and see if they need any shopping done for them so they can stock up for this emergency if they haven’t already.
During this very critical time, please keep our national, state and local leaders in prayer, as well as our care receivers in particular.
Blessings,
Herb Reese

Since 2003 New Commandment Men’s Ministries has helped hundreds of churches throughout North American and around the world recruit teams of men who permanently adopt their widowed and single parents in their congregations for the purpose of donating two hours of service to them one Saturday morning each month. We accomplish this with a free training site called New Commandment Men’s Ministry
