For those of you who didn’t read the post, three weeks ago I asked my readers to pray for the State of Delaware. The reason is because Delaware is the only state where I haven’t been able to help a church start a men’s team ministry to their widowed and single parents.

This past Friday I flew out to Delaware for the men’s conference in Dover on Saturday that I asked you to pray about. Turns out, it only took five minutes for your prayers to be answered. Here’s my report.

It was early Saturday morning and the conference was about to begin at Calvary Church of Dover. I had just finished setting up my booth in the entryway to the church auditorium when Jamie Holden, the conference leader, came up and introduced me to a local pastor. Jamie said he had been talking to him about my ministry.

The pastor looked excited. He said he and his congregation had been praying for direction from the Lord for their church and the Lord laid on their hearts the word “adopt.” So they had been looking into promoting adoption and foster care when Jamie mentioned that New Commandment helps churches recruit teams of men who “adopt” their widowed and single parents.

“My ears immediately perked up,” the pastor said. “This seemed to be direct leading from the Lord.”

I explained more about my ministry and as a result it looks like his church is going to start a men’s team ministry, which would be the first church in Delaware to do so.

Later that morning I gave two well-attended workshops in the sanctuary on the subject “Mobilize Your Men to Meet Every Pressing Need in Your Church” and the men were very responsive. It looks like more churches are going to start men’s team ministries as well.

Thank you for your prayers. God is answering them. Continue to pray that these churches will follow through and actually establish men’s team ministries to their widowed and single parents. Already, one Delaware church from the conference has joined my online training site, “Meeting to Meet Needs,” and has started downloading material.

But on another note, my trip back home didn’t go so well.

I left my credit card at a gas station, injured my heel running to catch my plane, ate something that really upset my stomach, and my laptop screen got cracked in checked baggage.

But seeing God work in and through the lives of men?

Priceless!
