Pray for and Support Iron Sharpens Iron as it Faces the Coronavirus Crisis

An Iron Sharpens Iron conference
Iron Sharpens Iron Conference

As many of you already know, Iron Sharpens Iron is an amazing men’s conference ministry that has been around for over twenty years. This year, ISI has over two dozen conferences scheduled. These conferences average around 500 men in attendance who hail from dozens of churches.

Iron Sharpens Iron is dear to my heart because my ministry, New Commandment Men’s Ministries, has had a symbiotic relationship with ISI since New Commandment started eighteen years ago. I know many of its conference hosts personally, especially its founder, Brian Doyle. I have been to over 150 of these conferences doing breakout workshops for them on the subject of men’s team ministry to the widowed and single parents.

But this year Iron Sharpens Iron faces a huge problem: this time of year is peak conference season for ISI, but it comes just when the Coronavirus crisis is escalating. For example, this Saturday there are four conferences scheduled, the following Saturday there are three, and the Saturday after that there are seven.

Some of these conferences will be postponed a few weeks and some will be rescheduled in the fall, causing a huge logistical problem, along with a severe hit financially.

I’m writing to you today to please pray for Iron Sharpens Iron and to donate generously to Iron Sharpens Iron to help it through this very difficult time. I cannot overstate how critical ISI is to all men’s ministry in America.

Since 2003 New Commandment Men’s Ministries has helped hundreds of churches throughout North American and around the world recruit teams of men who permanently adopt their widowed and single parents in their congregations for the purpose of donating two hours of service to them one Saturday morning each month. We accomplish this with a free training site called New Commandment Men’s Ministry
