What is it with Delaware, anyway?
Over the past eighteen years, New Commandment Men’s Ministries has helped almost one thousand churches start men’s team ministries to their widowed and single parents.
These churches range in size from very large to very small and represent dozens of denominations.
They’re in mega cities, farm towns, industrial towns, financial centers, inner cities… you name it.
They’re all over North America. They’re in Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
And they’re in every state in America.
But there are none in Delaware.
For years now I’ve been saying, “We’ve helped start men’s team ministries in 49 states across America.” To which I get the inevitable question: “What’s the state without a church with a men’s team ministry? Alaska? Hawaii?”
“Nope,” I say. “It’s Delaware.”
It’s not for lack of trying. I’ve been on three ministry trips to Delaware over the years. But all I get is blank stares.
Most pastors and their men jump out of their seats when I tell them about using teams of men to serve their widowed and single parents. But in Delaware, the response I see most often has been a guarded, “This is interesting. We’ll have to look into it.”
So I want to ask you to pray that on Saturday, February 1, the Holy Spirit will blast away that “Don’t-call-me-I’ll-call-you” attitude. That’s the date I’ll be giving two seminars on men’s team ministry at a Mantour Conference at Calvary Church in Dover, Delaware.
This will be my fourth, and probably my last, trip to Delaware.
I’m asking you to pray that the Spirit of God will create a passionate desire in the hearts of men to meet the pressing needs of their widowed and single parents in churches all over Delaware.
The same way the Spirit has done all over the world.

Since 2003 New Commandment Men’s Ministries has helped hundreds of churches throughout North American and around the world recruit teams of men who permanently adopt their widowed and single parents in their congregations for the purpose of donating two hours of service to them one Saturday morning each month. We accomplish this with a free training site called New Commandment Men’s Ministry
